Dear Fellow Avid Skier,
Some years ago, on yet another sport excursion with several friends, we woke up to one of those days we all dream just about as skiers... a 2-foot selling of fresh powder nightlong had created one of those epic sport days that you'll ne'er
forget for the rest of your life!
As we ready-made our 1st run down through the freshies, marking up the mountain with 1st tracks, the excitement of thrashing through the powder was an extreme epinephrine rush!
The fresh, crisp mountain air filled our lungs as we huffed and puffed through the trees, with every shoulder brush of the pine branches, knock off much fresh powder.
Ahh, this is the kind of day us skiers and boarders dream about! The kind of day wherever
you can't even as wipe the smile off your face you're on such a high from floating through the pow.
As we got just about 2-3 hours into this amazing day of powder skiing, a common problem started to occur in most of the skiers in our group...
Most of us started to get such deep leg burning and fatigue, that it was starting to severely slow us down, and do us start to stumble here and there... you know, those little mess ups that actually rag you, because you cognize you're a better athlete than that!
We all were acquiring the symptoms normally acknowledged as "jello legs", and it was laying waste our day of epic powder skiing. The snow was so astounding that we wanted to ski straight through the whole day without breaks until close, but our legs were just not having it.
I didn't want to admit it to my buddies, but my legs were just shot, and I had to call it equal
early that day.
What was Wrong with Our Legs?
Later that night, we were restful in the lodge with several drinks, soaking our sore muscles in the hot tub. We started talking just about how we wished we had been better physically prepared for this ski trip, so that we could have ready-made the most of what was one of the better sport days you'll ever experience.
The thing that most of us detected
was that we were all in fairly decent shape already, however we just hadn't conditioned our legs well enough to handle a tough day of sport like this.
One of my friends then yelled over to me, "Mike, you're a professional fitness trainer... why don't you come up with several sort of program for skiers to develop rock solid legs that can last all day long on the slopes without the deep burn and jell-o legs?"
Everybody else in agreement it was thing
they wanted to try also. So, I patterned
I'd start developing and testing programs as shortly as we got back from this trip.
Let the testing begin...

just the typical wall squats and leg extensions that everybody makes thinking that these alone are going to give them the leg endurance and strength they need to tear up the slopes.
Fortunately I had quite a few volunteers that were much than willing to try the ski-specific exercise learning programs I was developing and help me to iron out the kinks.

Unbeatable
in Tearing Up the Slopes!
Well, I gave the programs to half of the guys from our previous trip wherever
everyone suffered from the "jello legs", and told everyone to follow them religiously until our next ski trip planned for the following month.
That gave everyone just about 3 1/2 weeks to follow the routines just about 3-4 days/week, and see how they could improve their legs for the next ski trip. Everyone aforesaid that they thought the routines were actually intense and their legs were feeling stronger than ever.
They actually likeable
the unique exercises and particularly that no machines were necessary.
However, cipher knew if this would-be translate into being able to dominate the slopes all day long, or if we'd still get the shaky exhausted legs half way through our day of skiing.
Well, after several hours of sport that day, we started realizing that this was a Really several experience than our excursion the previous month.
Our legs felt much powerful and agile than ever, we had virtually no shakiness in our legs, and better of all... by the end of the day, most of us still felt like we could ski for hours longer!
